A small ferry, 'The Dannie Lee', runs down the river from the castle to the nearby village of Newenden, where you can dine in the village pub or hire a rowing boat and splash about on the river yourself!

At weekends an evening train runs a fansastic supper service starting from, and returning to, Tenterden.

Enjoy short stroll accoss the fields and you reach our nearest local pub "The Castle Inn" serving Kentish Ales and great homemade food. Directly opposite Bodiam Castle you can take lunch in the beer garden and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Bodiam.
In addition to all this there are a further two country pubs within walking distance, 'The White Dog Inn' in Ewhurst Green and 'The Salehurst Halt' in Salehurst.
