How many?
We currently have 2 huts which sleep up to 4 people with bunk beds one end and a double bed at the other, 2 further huts sleep up to 5 people in each. The top bunk in these can be either 2 singles or a double. There is one communal wash hut, this house 2 loos and 2 showers.
Are we allowed to bring our dog?
I’m afraid that as there is so much communal space, we are unable to allow dogs to stay with us @ THe Original Hut Company. THe only exception to this is if you have rented the whole site or if you are the only people staying with us which does occasionally happen in very low season and late availability. Even in that instance I must stress that you are on a working farm there are other farm dogs and live stock around. We are more than happy to welcome dogs @ our cottages in Camber see www.camberaccommodation.co.uk
Do you accept Group bookings?
Yes we do. However we prefer a group to take over the whole site, depending on the size obviously. If you are a single sex group we do insit that you rent all the huts it works much better that way for everyone involved. We do not allow a group booking to occupy 3 of the huts as we do not feel that is it fair on people staying in the 4 th hut to be completely surrounded by a group booking !!
How can I Pay?
Payment may be made by credit or debit card (I invoice through Paypal however you do not need to have a paypal account to make the payment), we also accept cheques or direct transfer.
Are we allowed a fire?
Camp fires are permitted only within the firepits provided.
Can I drive to my Hut?
Car Parking is a short distance across the field from the huts. Weather permitting we allow our guest to drive to the hut to load and unload. During periods of bad weather we will transfer you and you’re possessions in the landrover.
Public Transport?
Nearest main line stations are Robertsbridge or Etchingham. We hav e a good taxi company in Etchingham who will transer you to use for £12. If you need a hire car, you can come into Staplehurst where there is an Enterprise Car Rental. This will require prior organisation. We also offer bike hire, so that you’re not stranded!!
Is there a fridge?
No. I provide the best cool boxes on the market, and supply you with new ice packs each day. The fuller these are and the cooler the produce is when it goes into them the more efficiently they work.
Is there a power point?
No. The lighting is solar powered chargeing a 12 volt battery, and the hobs in the kitchens are gas. I do provide a wind up tourch which can also chage a mobile phone, (but be warned it does take quite a lot of winding!) THere are small LED outside lights to help you find you rhut in theh dark!!
Are the huts warm?
The huts have double glazed windows, and are insulated with very effective modern products as a newly built house would be. THey are also fitted with wood burning stoves, so yes they are really warm and cosy. We had even had a few bonkers people staying in the snow last year!!
